Diapers or Pull-ups? That is the Question

Diaper or pull-ups? that is the question

If you follow my blog, you know that I have talked about diapers before. And if you haven’t, you can check out that post here. Now, don’t let the headline fool you. We won’t be deciding which option is the best, at least not today. This post is more about which one is the best nighttime option for Jameson.

Jameson has now learned how to remove his diapers, and let me tell you, it can make quite the mess. The biggest problem isn’t during the day, it’s during the night while he is sleeping. During the day if we catch it we just close the diaper again and it’s no big deal. But at night, that’s when things get a little wet. While he is asleep Jameson manages to undo half of his diaper and then pees out of it, causing him and the bed to be wet. Which understandably wakes him up.

One solution that Bea found was to start putting the diapers on backward. It can be a pain in the butt to put them on backward when he’s trying to fight you. This solution has seemed to work, during the day at least. But at night he still somehow manages to get one side undone and pees out of his diaper. That is when we thought about trying pull-ups, hoping this would be a better solution.

So, there we are in the diaper aisle at Target trying to figure out which pull-ups to get. There aren’t as many options as there are diapers, but they do have nighttime ones and 12-hour ones. Not really knowing about pull-ups we got bought a pack of Huggies Pull-Ups 12 hour in size 2T-3T. Hoping these would solve our problem and the peeing out of the diaper would be over.

Jameson had his bath and it was time to try out the new pull-ups. The 3T seems to be a bit small, but we would give it a try. The first night went well, the second not so much. The second night Jameson must have adjusted himself and he peed out of the pull-up. But, he didn’t take it off, so that was a small victory in my book.

These diapers don’t hold as much as a diaper does, at least from what I can tell. So, we will keep putting on his diapers backward during the day. And try a 4T overnight pull-up soon to see if the fit and volume they hold are better.
