Potentially Buying a Minivan, is this what Happens when you Become a Parent?

That’s right! Bea and I have been thinking about trading in her Hyundai Santa Fe Sport for a Chrysler Pacifica S line edition. While the SUV is a great vehicle, it just does not have room for all of the things. What are these things you ask? They are the baby of course, whose car seat has to go into the middle of the backseat, otherwise, the passenger is not going to be too comfortable. We have two large breed dogs, and right now if we all want to go to the park, we have to take my SUV, but it’s still a tight squeeze. And lastly, if we were ever to have a second baby, there is just no way everyone would be comfortable in our current SUV. If you don’t have kids, just know that they have a lot of things they need when you are out and about, and the more space you have the better.

The minivan in question is a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Limited Hybrid. I had no idea, these came in a hybrid. Why the hybrid over just a normal version? The potential of getting 82 MPG is the reason for that. As well as a $7500 tax credit we can get on next year’s taxes, that can go towards paying it off faster. And Chrysler has a 0% interest for 60 months going on as well, so it’s basically a free loan.

If you haven’t read my previous post on cool dad cars I recommend, you can check it out here, this minivan is on that list. The cool thing about this minivan is all of the storage that’s available in it. There are little cubby holes everywhere, so many in fact that I’m sure we could lose all sorts of toys and things within the van. The one we looked at had every single option available, The backseat had dual high-def video screens with wireless headphones. There were USB ports all over the place, and both of the side doors were automatic opening and closing. And the best part of it all, Jameson’s car seat fit in the seat behind the passenger and there was room to spare.

But at the end of the day, we still are unsure about the minivan. There were a few things Bea didn’t like about it, and if we are going to spend that kind of money we need to like everything about it. So the journey will continue for a possible replacement for Bea’s Hyundai Santa Fe Sport aka The Watson Mobile.
