The Master Bed/Bath Have Finally Gotten An Update

It’s been a while since I have posted any sort of home renovation update. But not to worry, because just like the headline says, the master bedroom and bathroom have finally gotten the update they deserve. Like most of the house, these rooms were also stuck in the early 2000s, except the bathroom fixtures were also being slowly eaten away by the extremely hard water that we have here in Las Vegas.

When we bought the house the master bathroom had a nice crack going across the ceiling right over the bathtub. So attempting to repair that is where I started and you can read about that repair here. Once I was able to get the ceiling looking somewhat decent (trying to recreate the texture was impossible) we moved on to trying to pick out what color would replace the smokers yellow of the bedroom and the green of the bathroom. What we decided was a color called grayish, which is a nice purple grey color. So it brought a lot of warmth and color into the space.

Getting rid of more of the smokers yellow and again painting the ceiling a nice clean white, makes such a huge difference. After the paint dried, I hung the TV from the wall, put up a new fan, and hung up the new black-out curtains (after raising them to a proper level). In the master bathroom, I switched out the old chrome eight bulb vanity light for a nice new black modern style one. This small change made such a difference in this space.

The next project will be the laundry room. Then on to the very last room in the house for a new coat of paint on the walls and ceilings. It has been a long two years of updates, but I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
