Moving Into Our New Florida Home

We finally got the keys to our new house. Tensions were running a little high at my parent’s house. And we were ready to be on our own again.
After getting on our realtor and finance company about the continuous delays in closing, we got the date of March 25th as our official closing day. If you have never bought a house before, a final walk-through of the house happens before you sign the closing documents and take possession of your new home. Usually, this would take place the day before closing, but that was not the case with ours. We did it an hour before we signed the papers. It was good that there weren’t any issues on that final walk-through. It was also the first time our realtor saw the house we were purchasing.
If you’re now thinking to yourself, how is that possible? The realtor used one of his partners to show us around almost every house we looked at. We later came to learn that the realtor that did all of the work was later not given any of the commission that he made. What did we learn from this experience? Make sure you ask the right questions and, make sure that the person that is doing all of the work gets the credit that they deserve.
After signing all of the documents, we got into the car and drove back to our new home. We brought a few things to the signing we wanted to drop off as we checked out the new house.
Since our stuff was in storage back in Las Vegas, NV all we had was what fit into the car and the plane. I ordered a new blow-up mattress, some pillows, and a few other items from Amazon to help hold us over until our stuff came. My parents let us borrow the crib they bought for Jameson, a TV, and a few other things to help us. And most of those things we are still borrowing.
Our goal was to get the inside of the house painted and ready for when our stuff did arrive. That didn’t happen as we hopdd it would have, but that is a story for another day.
